Each year I get the very special opportunity to travel back to Charleston and join the team that produces the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. This year is “Lucky Seven”, and I’m thrilled to be back, as this year promises to the biggest and best yet.
But home, in Birmingham, is not far away.
The other night, I wandered over to Woodlawn, in search of a gift for my gracious hosts who always let me stay in their Charleston single while I prepare for the festival. I hit up City Arts Boutique (because it’s the *perfect* place to find locally made art/letterpress/unique finds, and accidentally bought myself a little goodie, as well. It’s something I’ve been eyeing for some time, a sweet little pendant crafted by ‘Lil Seeds, bearing the heart of Birmingham and promising to always keep the Magic City close to heart.
So I’m here, but I’m fondly thinking of there…
I’ll be posting oldies-but-goodies this week and will look forward to returning to Jones Valley after the wine bottles have all run dry and the chefs have taken their knives and gone home. It’ll be an exciting week for sure, and I’m wishing you all a great (tasty) week, too.
Cheers from here!

I have one, too, and it actually depicts the part of town I covered when I was at the Birmingham News. Bonus!
Lovely, CJW!
