Little boys love things that fly…and chug…and scoot. And so we find ourselves spending lots of time at Railroad Park because, well, that’s THE place for enjoying helicopters taking off and landing at UAB, for watching airplanes rise and descend over the tall city buildings, for listening as trains rumble along Birmingham’s “river”. It’s a prime spot for people-watching, too, this being one of *my* favorite past times, in addition to making new friends on the playground (something both Sweet Pea and I are known for – just see picture below).
And I suspect we may be spending even more time at Birmingham’s favorite outdoor space this spring, as the “Get Healthy on the Railroad” series has kicked off for this season. Blue Cross Blue Shield sponsors these free fitness classes (let’s talk ZUMBA! CRUNK! YOGA!…among others), and there’s a different class taking place each weeknight at 6p.m. Just take your pick and get movin’!
You have no excuse.
I’ll meet you there. (That means YOU, CJW.)
Have a lovely weekend. Enjoy the parks. Enjoy the sunshine. Enjoy the Magic City!
