The Blogroll

I’ve been recently reminded of just how strong the blogging and writing community is here in Birmingham. The first slap-in-the-face was at WordCamp a few weeks ago, and then again this past weekend, at FoodBlogSouth.

Now, to be fair, neither event was exclusively composed of Birmingham-based bloggers/Wordpress geeks/foodies/writers. Instead, there were attendees who had traveled from across the region (and even as far as California) to participate in these high-quality conferences. Neither a programmer nor true food blogger, I was just lucky to be in the crowd…

When I first started blogging in Birmingham (about Birmingham), I wanted to gather a list of other local bloggers, as a means to build community and, perhaps, shamelessly promote myself from time to time. This list, over two years in the making, is one of my prized possessions. Truly. It indicates not only the multitude of talented voices we have here in the Magic City, but it also proves that Birmingham is a happening/vibrant/interesting community with a helluva’ lotta’ good stuff to talk (and blog) about. (And, I’ve made alot of friends through this online network.)

So, go back to my home page. Direct your eyes to the right of the screen. Start exploring. Reconnect with a few familiar voices. Find a few new favorites.

And, if you have a blog that’s not listed or know of one that most certainly should be included, let me know. (Please, let me know!) This list is ever-growing. I like it that way.

Cheers to blogging in Birmingham!

Cheers to finding your own (bit of blogging) magic…

(While sipping on this.)

  • Great post! And I hear you on the amazing talent here in the ‘ham. Love it. I’d love for you to consider adding http://www.foodrevival.com to the mix once we get it back up and running. We are currently revamping the site, adding a few tabs (ahem…baby food), and taking a much needed break and enjoying this 8 week old. We will be back. I promise. Thanks for all the wonderful work YOU do in our community. We are all appreciative…
